Introducing NEW Health’s “Bridging the Gap” Summer Workforce Program

We’re excited to announce the launch of NEW Health’s “Bridging the Gap” summer workforce program—a new initiative designed to introduce future professionals to a variety of career opportunities in our rural communities.

This program goes beyond a traditional summer job. It offers paid, hands-on experience in four key disciplines at NEW Health, giving participants a behind-the-scenes look at the diverse roles that support our mission of community connected care. The inaugural cohort will focus on the following positions:

  • Dental Sterilization Technician – Support clinical care by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient dental environment.
  • IT Helpdesk Intern – Gain experience in technical support and problem-solving across a healthcare organization.
  • Care Coordinator I – Learn how to connect patients with the care and resources they need to thrive.
  • Pharmacy Assistant – Work alongside pharmacists to support medication management and patient education.

In addition to on-the-job experience, participants will take part in career development activities designed to build professional skills and confidence. These include resume-building workshops, mock interviews, and training in professional standards and workplace readiness.

Whether you’re exploring your options or already have a career path in mind, this program is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience, develop essential skills, and contribute to the wellbeing of our communities.

Cohort 1 is now full—thank you for the overwhelming interest! Stay tuned for exciting updates on upcoming cohorts.
