At the Working Together to Improve Broadband for Rural Washington in Colville meeting yesterday, Desiree Sweeney, CEO of NEW Health discussed the impact of inefficient broadband in rural healthcare. Her key talking points were:
– DSL and dial up internet at clinical sites, 
– Non dedicated broadband lines competing with youth gaming systems, especially the impact in the afternoon when schools release. 
– High cost of broadband for rural communities compared to urban broadband costs,
– USAC mandates limited by large ISP providers
