We have continued receiving reports of scammers impersonating NEW Health employees and targeting NEW Health patients. NEW Health continues to monitor this situation and is requesting your help with reporting.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is responsible for collecting information from individuals who have been the direct target of fraudulent callers. Below is an easy step-by-step guide for filing a complaint with the FTC. Additionally, we encourage you to contact your local law enforcement agency if you believe any of your personal or payment information has been obtained or used unlawfully.

Filing a Complaint:

A complaint can be filed with the FTC either over the phone by calling 1-877-382-4357 or online by using the link https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/.

  1. If you are filing a report online, click “Report Now.”
  2. You will be shown a list of common problems. Choose “an impersonator.”
  3. A new list will appear. Choose “well-known or trusted business.”
  4. Click “continue” at the bottom of the page. Next, the report will ask you to enter the details specific to the call you received including:
  5. If the scammer asked for money, how much, and if payment information was provided
  6. The date of the call
  7. What company they pretended to be
  8. Name of the caller, or who the caller was pretending to be, if provided
  9. Phone number you were called from
  10. Details of the scammer and a description of what happened
  11. Last, it will ask for your contact information before you submit the report.
