NEW Health Opens New Colville Medical Facility with Crandall Coffee’s First Colville Location

Tours and ribbon cutting ceremony to take place on Tuesday, August 8th, 5:30-7:30pm

Colville, WA. July 11, 2023 – NEW Health, a non-profit primary care provider serving Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille counties, officially began operations in their new two-story 19,633 square foot Colville Medical facility on May 1st, 2023. Located at 358 N. Main Street, the new building expands access to primary medical, behavioral health, and pharmacy services for the greater-Colville community. During the months of May and June, a parking lot was developed at the corner of N. Main and E. 4th Avenue which will also serve to provide additional parking for local community events on evenings and weekends.

In addition to expanding local access to health care services, the construction project had a strong focus on re-investing dollars locally. NEW Health solicited state and federal grants, including through the Stevens County Commissioners, to bring taxpayer dollars back to Colville. Additionally, locally sourced Vaagen cross-laminated timber was used in the project which helps keep dollars, and jobs, in the community.

“NEW Health has served Colville since 1997,” says Desiree Sweeney, NEW Health CEO. “We are proud to actively contribute to local economic development and well-being. From creating career training opportunities here in Colville including a Medical Assistant Apprenticeship and Dental Assistant Training Program, to providing in-person and virtual primary care access, NEW Health is committed to investing in the Colville community. It was a priority for NEW Health that our Colville construction project would continue our commitment to re-invest dollars locally.”

The new building is also the home to Kettle Falls-based Crandall Coffee’s first Colville location. Crandall Coffee is an independently owned, single family business specializing in small batch, certified organic, single origin, and premium blend roasted coffee. Crandall Coffee Colville is located on the first floor of 358 N. Main Street. Customers can purchase beverages, pastries, and sandwiches at the inside counter or at the drive-thru accessed from E. 4th Avenue.

“We’re excited to partner with NEW Health and bring our coffee to Colville,” says Crandall Coffee owner Jerrad Crandall. “We’ve been serving the Kettle Falls community for over 20 years and we’re looking forward to sharing our love of coffee with the people of Colville. We’re committed to providing our customers with the best possible coffee shop experience and feel that this beautiful new location will be a great venue to help showcase Crandall Coffee to a wider audience.”

The community is invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 8, to celebrate the opening of the new Colville Medical building and Crandall Coffee’s Colville location. Tours for the public will be available from 5:30-7:30pm, and the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 6:00pm.
