Q: What is Making Care Primary (MCP)
A: Making Care Primary is an innovative healthcare payment program that aims to improve our patients’ care experience.
Through Making Care Primary, we will receive additional resources from Medicare and other health insurance companies to help us enhance our work and provide the best quality, patient-centered care.
Q: What patients are involved in this program?
A: Traditional Medicare patients that have actively utilized NEW Health for their care.
Medicare Advantage members are not part of this program at this time.
Q: Are the patients Medicare benefits changing?
A: No, the patients' Medicare benefits remain the same. Patients still have the right to use or visit any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare, at any time.
Q: Can patients choose whether to participate in MCP?
A: No, patients do not choose whether to participate in MCP, however they may choose to opt-out of sharing their claim data by calling Medicare.
Patients can choose their primary clinician on Medicare.gov.
Q: Will information be shared with NEW Health if the patient is assigned to another organization?
A: No, Medicare will not provide NEW Health any information on patients not assigned to us.
