NEW Health Invites Public to Tour Mobile Clinic

Chewelah, WA. March 30, 2022 – NEW Health, a non-profit primary care provider serving Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille counties, has acquired the organization’s first mobile clinic.
Weighing in at 26,000 pounds and measuring 38 feet, 10 inches in length, the new mobile unit includes medical and dental exam areas and a lab.

“We are excited to bring this new resource to our service area,” says NEW Health Chief Executive Officer Desiree Sweeney. “The mobile clinic will enable our medical and dental clinicians to bring health care services to remote areas and to serve individuals who may not be accessing care at brick-and-mortar sites. We aim to use the mobile clinic to continue to break down barriers to care.”

The community is invited to tour NEW Health’s new mobile clinic. The organization will host seven Open House events starting April 19th in Northport and running through May 3rd with stops in Ione, Colville, Nine Mile Falls, Loon Lake, Springdale, and ending in Chewelah.

“These Open House events are just the first of many opportunities for the public to see the mobile clinic. Come ask us questions about NEW Health and the services we are able to provide, walk around the inside of the mobile clinic, and feel free to take a picture!” says Sweeney.

NEW Health employees had a naming contest for the mobile clinic and the winning entry was “NEW Health on Wheels”. The mobile clinic was purchased with federal COVID-19 funding awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
