NEW Health Announces Pharmacy Expansions and New Home Delivery Service
August 22, 2023 – NEW Health, a non-profit primary care provider serving Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille counties, is expanding local pharmacy access. In May 2023, NEW Health opened its new Colville Medical facility which includes an expanded on-site pharmacy with drive-thru access. In June 2023, NEW Health introduced a new Pharmacy Home Delivery service to deliver medications to patient’s homes. And in August 2023, NEW Health will complete a renovation at their Nine Mile Falls location to double the size of the on-site pharmacy.
“NEW Health is committed to ensuring patients in our rural communities have timely and convenient access to medications,” says NEW Health Chief Pharmacy Officer Aaric Ross. “We hired a full-time courier driver to deliver medications right to our patients’ doorstep. We understand that visiting a pharmacy can be time-consuming and inconvenient, especially for those with busy schedules or limited mobility. By bringing your medications directly to you, we aim to make your life a little bit easier.”
NEW Health Pharmacy Home Delivery is available to NEW Health patients at no extra charge. Communities currently benefiting from this new service include all of Stevens County, from Northport to Tum Tum, and North Pend Oreille County including Ione, Metaline, and Metaline Falls.
“This new service is huge for residents of North Pend Oreille County and all throughout our service areas,” says Kim Holloway-Cook, Operations Manager at NEW Health Selkirk Medical in Ione. “Mailing medications continues to be restricted by insurance plans and the medications would sometimes not arrive in a timely manner anyways. So at NEW Health we have taken it upon ourselves to make sure needed medications get into the hand of our patients. I see this new service as especially benefiting our patients who have transportation challenges.”
In addition to launching Pharmacy Home Delivery this summer, NEW Health expanded the on-site pharmacies at its medical sites in Colville and Nine Mile Falls. “These recent capital expansions are a significant investment in our communities,” says NEW Health Pharmacy Operations Manager Debbie Keller. “As a pharmacist, I want to make sure my patients have timely access to their prescription medications and also have access to meet with their local pharmacist. These recent investments help us to do both.”
